Scientist of Biodegradation and Oxygen Constraints
1 week ago
We are seeking a highly motivated researcher to join our team at the University of Copenhagen's Department of Geosciences and Natural Resource Management. As a Postdoctoral Researcher, you will investigate oxygen dynamics in enzymatic degradation processes, focusing on the role of reactive oxygen species in biomaterial degradation.
Oxygen-dependent enzymatic reactions play a vital role in microbial processes, affecting the conversion of biomass into valuable products. Our research seeks to enhance understanding of oxygen-dependent enzymatic reactions and their impact on biomass degradation.
You will be part of an international research consortium, OxyMiST, which aims to advance knowledge on oxygen constraints in microbial secretomes during plant cell wall turnover. This collaboration will facilitate the development of new methods for utilizing forest or agricultural products in a green bioeconomy.
Main Responsibilities:- Conduct thorough research on enzymatic degradation processes
- Investigate the effects of reactive oxygen species on biomaterial degradation
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team and apply advanced biomasses, pretreatments, and enzymes at the department
To succeed in this position, you should hold a Ph.D. in a relevant field (e.g., biochemistry, biology, environmental science) and possess expertise in enzymatic processes and biomaterial degradation. Experience with oxygen-controlled equipment is also essential.
