About the Position

We are seeking a highly skilled historian to join our research team at the Saxo Institute in the Faculty of Humanities at the University of Copenhagen. The postdoctoral fellowship is part of a larger research project focused on Radical Pietism in Northern Europe.

Job Content

The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting independent research and analyzing radical Pietist practices in their context, exploring alternative ways of achieving influence in the public sphere among people who possessed neither formal power nor strong bookish training.

The researcher will work closely with the Principal Investigator, Juliane Engelhardt, and other team members to contribute to the overall aim of the project, which is to understand the social protest and impact of radical Pietism during the 17th and 18th centuries.

Required Skills and Qualifications

To be eligible for this position, applicants must have a PhD in history or a related field, obtained within the last six years. They should also possess excellent written and spoken academic English skills, as well as the ability to read German.

Applicants from all relevant fields of research, including cultural history, sociology, history of ideas, art history, and religious history, are encouraged to apply.

Benefits

This is a fixed-term position for 24 months, offering a competitive salary of approximately €65,000 per year, plus additional benefits and a pension contribution of 17.1% of salary.
