Postdoctoral Researcher in History of Philosophy

We are seeking a highly motivated and accomplished Postdoctoral Researcher to join our team at the Department of Communication, Faculty of Humanities, University of Copenhagen. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to the ERC-funded project "Women in the Nordic Enlightenment (WHENCE)", which aims to uncover women's intellectual contribution to Scandinavian gender equality.
The successful candidate will be responsible for investigating writings reflecting on women's intellectual capacities and defending their intellectual equality. You will work closely with our team to explore the development of various arguments, philosophical traditions, and argumentative strategies used by women to counter traditional views about their intellectual deficiency.
As a Postdoctoral Researcher, you will be affiliated with the Center for Interdisciplinary Research on Women in the History of Philosophy (INSPIRE) and the internationally renowned Section for Philosophy. You will have the opportunity to engage actively in the WHENCE project, including participating in international conferences, publishing in high-impact peer-reviewed journals, and contributing to the collective research activities of the project.
This is a full-time research position with a fixed-term contract of 36 months. The salary is approximately €64,320 per year, commensurate with qualifications and experience.
To be considered for this role, you must have a PhD in philosophy or a relevant related subject, such as history, literature, or history of ideas. You should also have expertise in the history of philosophy and literature or history, as well as high proficiency in English and one of the Scandinavian languages.
The ideal candidate will have a clear potential to deliver high-quality peer-reviewed research publications and demonstrate a strong understanding of feminist history of philosophy or Scandinavian intellectual history.
