Århus, Århus Kommune, Denmark European Federation Of Organizations For Medical Physics - EFOMP Full time
Fully Financed PhD Fellowship

**Job Description:**

We are seeking a highly motivated PhD researcher to join our team at the European Federation Of Organizations For Medical Physics - EFOMP. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work on a cutting-edge project focused on developing generative deep learning models in dental imaging.

**About the Project:**

This 3-year PhD project aims to leverage state-of-the-art techniques to generate synthetic dental radiographs. By doing so, we aim to address a major limitation in AI studies involving imaging data – the availability and quality of training data.

The primary goal of this project is to use generative DL models to overcome the issue of limited sample sizes and single-center studies. This will be achieved by generating infinite sets of unique, realistic data that can be used for task-specific AI development.

**Key Responsibilities:**

- Develop and implement deep learning models, specifically Generative Adversarial Networks (GANs) and Latent Diffusion Models (LDM), to generate realistic dental radiographs.

- Conduct extensive literature reviews and research on existing methods and techniques in the field of generative DL and dental imaging.

- Collaborate with experts from the medical physics community to ensure the accuracy and relevance of the generated data.

- Present research findings at international conferences and publish papers in top-tier journals.

**Requirements:**

- A Master's degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field.

- Strong programming skills in Python and experience with deep learning frameworks such as TensorFlow or PyTorch.

- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.

- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to think creatively.

**Benefits:**

- A fully financed PhD position, including a stipend and research expenses.

- The opportunity to work on a high-impact project with real-world applications in medical physics.

- Access to state-of-the-art computing facilities and resources.

- Professional development opportunities, including conference travel and training sessions.

**Estimated Salary:** €30,000 - €40,000 per annum, depending on qualifications and experience.
