The role of the Resource Manager will play a crucial part in ensuring that projects are resourced effectively with the right capability and capacity to deliver successful outcomes on time and within budget.

Key Accountabilities:

  1. Resource Allocation: Assign available staff to projects based on their skills, experience, and availability.
  2. Capacity Planning: Ensure the organisation has the capacity to meet project demands by planning and managing resources effectively.
  3. Monitoring Utilisation: Track and manage employee workload, utilisation, and overtime to ensure optimal productivity.
  4. Conflict Resolution: Address and resolve any resource conflicts that arise during project execution with project and resource owners.
  5. Collaboration: Work closely with project managers, department heads, and HR to understand resource needs and ensure timely staffing.
  6. Documentation: Maintain accurate records of resource allocation, utilisation reports, and other relevant documentation.
  7. Process Improvement: Provide support to project managers on resource management issues and suggest improvements to resource management processes.
  8. Hiring and Training: Participate in the hiring process and collaborate with HR on staff training and development.

Requirements:

  • Experience: Previous experience in resource management in a professional services business.
  • Skills:
    • Proficiency in resource management software and tools, building tools where required.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to prioritise and manage multiple tasks efficiently.
  • Key Qualities:
    • Strategic Thinking: Ability to plan and allocate resources effectively to meet project goals.
    • Flexibility: Adaptability to changing project demands and resource availability.
    • Decision-Making: Strong decision-making skills to optimise resource utilisation and resolve conflicts.

About Salary: We offer an attractive salary package, estimated to be around £65,000 - £80,000 per annum, depending on experience and qualifications. In addition, we provide a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, life insurance, and a great pension scheme.
