The Role:
This key position plays a vital role in ensuring that projects are resourced effectively, allowing successful delivery on time and on budget. As a Resource Manager, you will work closely with project and resource owners to assign available staff to projects based on their skills, experience, and availability. Your goal is to ensure the organisation has the capacity to meet project demands by planning and managing resources effectively.
Responsibilities:
• Assign available staff to projects based on their skills, experience, and availability.
• Ensure the organisation has the capacity to meet project demands by planning and managing resources effectively.
• Track and manage employee workload, utilisation, and overtime to ensure optimal productivity.
• Address and resolve any resource conflicts that arise during project execution with project and resource owners.
• Collaborate with project managers, department heads, and HR to understand resource needs and ensure timely staffing.
• Maintain accurate records of resource allocation, utilisation reports, and other relevant documentation.
• Provide support to project managers on resource management issues and suggest improvements to resource management processes.
• Participate in the hiring process and collaborate with HR on staff training and development.
Requirements:
• Previous experience in resource management in a professional services business.
• Proficiency in resource management software and tools, building tools where required.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to prioritise and manage multiple tasks efficiently.
