Associate Professor in Organizational and Management Studies

The Department of Business Development and Technology at Aarhus University invites applications for a position as associate professor in organisational and management studies. The successful candidate will become part of the AIROD research section. The position is a full-time permanent position, and the successful candidate will divide their time evenly between research and teaching activities.
Research OpportunitiesWe are looking for candidates who can strengthen our research profile. A significant part of our work involves business partners, and we often perform applied research. Hence, it is essential that the candidates conduct research on topics relevant to modern companies, and candidates with research activities involving industry will be preferred. The position offers a unique opportunity to work on research topics such as organisational psychology, strategic human resource management, organisational design and development, and digital management and leadership.
Teaching ResponsibilitiesCandidates are expected to teach and supervise students at all levels, including PhD students. Our study programme portfolio contains a MSc programme and a bachelor's degree in Economics and Business Administration as well as industry-oriented training. Hence, candidates should be able to teach courses in one or more of the following domains: organisational behaviour, human resource management, and leadership.
QualificationsEmployment as associate professor requires a PhD degree and a strong academic background as assistant professor or equivalent. Preferably, applicants have a proven record of strong international research, as evidenced by publications in highly reputed international journals. A track record of excellence in teaching on topics relevant for our study programmes is also desirable. A clear, well-developed, and viable strategy for future high-level research is required. A track record of good citizenship in the wider academic community combined with a commitment to contributing to a vibrant work environment at our department is also expected. A commitment to sharing insights and knowledge with the broader society and prioritising dialogue with practitioners is also required. A willingness to engage in external research funding activities is also expected.
About the DepartmentThe Department of Business Development and Technology is part of Aarhus University, a top 100 university. We are located in the business-oriented and entrepreneurial city of Herning. The department excels in business, IT, and engineering disciplines and emphasises the importance of company collaborations. We have around 1,200 students and close to 100 faculty and staff. Our research projects are conducted in close collaboration with industry on the basis of new data and new technologies. These projects are generously supported by the ERC, Horizon Europe, the Independent Research Fund Denmark, and the Danish Industry Foundation, among others.
