Job Description:

The Department of Biomedicine at Aarhus University invites applications for a position as Associate Professor in molecular autophagy, with a focus on LC3 proteins and their interactors. The position is a fixed-term full-time position for 3 years.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct research of high international quality in molecular autophagy, including publication in top international journals and communication with national and international academic networks.
  • Teach and supervise Bachelor's and Master's degree students, and contribute to the development of new teaching activities.
  • Secure external research funding and supervise PhD students.
  • Integrate research with that of Reggiori's team and the faculty/university.
  • Participate in assessment and committee work at Aarhus University.
  • Disseminate research to the outside world.

Requirements:

  • Established researcher with expertise in studying LC3/GABARAP proteins and their interactors, using in vitro biochemical and biophysical assays.
  • Experience in attracting significant research funding from national and international funding bodies.
  • Ability to build relationships based on trust with students, colleagues, and partners.
  • Fluency in oral and written English.

Terms of Employment:

  • Appointment as an associate professor requires research and teaching qualifications at the level that can be achieved through the satisfactory completion of a period of appointment as an assistant professor or researcher.
  • The applicant is required to have completed a university pedagogical programme or an equivalent programme.
  • Remuneration is in accordance with the Danish Confederation of Professional Associations (Akademikerne).
