Associate Professorship in Organizational Management at Aarhus University

Aarhus University's Department of Business Development and Technology invites applications for an associate professorship in organizational management. The successful candidate will join a dynamic research environment focused on business development and technology.
The associate professorship is a full-time permanent position, with a strong emphasis on research and teaching activities. The successful candidate will become part of the AIROD research section and contribute to the department's research profile.
We are seeking candidates who can strengthen our research profile and conduct research on topics relevant to modern companies. A significant part of our work involves business partners, and we often perform applied research. Hence, it is essential that the candidates have research activities involving industry.
Research topics relevant to the position include:
- Organizational psychology
- Strategic human resource management
- Organizational design and development
- Digital management and leadership
Candidates are expected to teach and supervise students at all levels, including PhD students. Our study programme portfolio contains a MSc program and a bachelor's degree in Economics and Business Administration, as well as industry-oriented training. Hence, candidates should be able to teach courses in one or more of the following domains: Organisational Behaviour, Human Resource Management, and Leadership.
QualificationsEmployment as associate professor requires a PhD degree and a strong academic background as assistant professor or equivalent. We prefer applicants with the following qualifications:
- A proven record of strong international research, as evidenced by publications in highly reputed international journals.
- A track record of excellence in teaching on topics relevant for our study programmes.
- A clear, well-developed, and viable strategy for future high-level research.
- A track record of good citizenship in the wider academic community combined with a commitment to contributing to a vibrant work environment at our department.
- A commitment to sharing insights and knowledge with the broader society and prioritising dialogue with practitioners.
- A commitment to teaching that provides students with relevant competences as well as the ability to reflect critically on business topics.
- A willingness to engage in external research funding activities.
Applicants are encouraged to describe how their research is important for industry. The description could include concrete collaborations, impact, dissemination activities, etc.
Non-Danish speakers are required to acquire a reasonable knowledge of the Danish language within three years. The department will grant time off from teaching to attend Danish courses during the first two years of employment.
Permanent employment as associate professor at Aarhus University requires completion of the supervision course and the course Online and blended learning provided by Centre for Educational Development at Aarhus University. If you have not completed the courses before commencement of employment, continued employment will be conditional on completion of the courses within a two-year period.
About the DepartmentThe Department of Business Development and Technology is part of Aarhus BSS, Aarhus University – a top 100 university. We are located in the business-oriented and entrepreneurial city of Herning. The department excels in business, IT, and engineering disciplines and emphasizes the importance of company collaborations. We have around 1,200 students and close to 100 faculty and staff. Each year, approximately 500 students are involved in company projects in more than 250 companies ranging from SMEs to leading multinationals.
We influence society through business development and technology. For this reason, many research projects are conducted in close collaboration with industry on the basis of new data and new technologies. These projects are generously supported by the ERC, Horizon Europe, the Independent Research Fund Denmark, and the Danish Industry Foundation, among others.
