Professor of Palaeoproteomics

We are seeking a highly qualified Professor of Palaeoproteomics to join our team at the Globe Institute. The successful candidate will have a strong background in molecular biology, biological anthropology, or a related field, and will be expected to contribute to the development of new approaches in palaeoproteomics.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct research in palaeoproteomics, including the analysis of ancient proteins and their chemical damage, protein sequence-based phylogenetic inference, and metaproteomic analysis of ancient samples.
- Develop and deploy research-based teaching at all academic levels, including undergraduate and graduate courses.
- Supervise students and junior colleagues, and contribute to the development of pedagogical and didactic skills.
- Attract and manage externally funded large research grants, and contribute to the development of research-based training networks.
- Publicly disseminate research outcomes, and contribute to academic governance at departmental and faculty levels.
- PhD in Molecular Biology, Biological Anthropology, or a related field.
- Excellent track record of original research in palaeoproteomics, supported by an outstanding publication record.
- Experience in developing and applying palaeoproteomics to palaeontology, palaeoanthropology, and cultural heritage conservation.
- Experience in conceiving and leading multiple large-scale research-based training networks.
- Proven track record of directing and delivering courses at all academic levels.
- Demonstrated experience in supervising students and junior colleagues.
- Demonstrated experience as a research group leader for at least five years.
- Proven track record of obtaining funding through competitive calls.
- Experience in academic governance, as a minimum at the departmental level.
- Excellent track record in communicating research to scientific peers and the wider public.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills.
- Responsibility for and contribution to well-being, collaboration, equal treatment, diversity, and a good working environment.
The position is a permanent position, with an average weekly working hours of 37 hours per week. Salary and other terms and conditions of appointment are set in accordance with the Agreement between the Ministry of Finance and AC (Danish Confederation of Professional Associations) or other relevant professional organisations.
The position is covered by the Job Structure for Academic Staff at Universities 2020.
