Job Title:

Programme Officer - Health Emergency Response

Description:

The World Health Organization is seeking a Programme Officer to support the Division of WHO Health Emergencies in their mission to build the capacity of Member States to assess, prevent and manage health emergency risks. The successful candidate will work with the Regional Emergency Director (RED) to ensure the effective delivery of technical programmes and will be responsible for preparing presentations, gathering information, coordinating with colleagues, and contributing to the preparation of corporate reports and dashboards.

Responsibilities:

• Support the RED in preparing for high-level meetings and presentations
• Gather information and content from the Emergency Communications and Knowledge Management Teams
• Monitor progress of WHE priorities and activities
• Coordinate with colleagues to prepare corporate reports and dashboards
• Gather and consolidate information from PAMs and technical leads to strengthen collaboration and information-sharing
• Support the RED and PAMs in identifying areas of collaboration with other Divisions
• Participate in meetings and ensure follow-up on action points
• Perform any other related duties as required by the supervisor

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in management, administration, health policy/planning, economics, social development, social sciences or international relations
• Minimum five years' experience in project management, grant management, and/or related field
• Strong analytical and writing skills, with ability to develop reports, presentations, and persuasive documents
• Expert knowledge of English, with intermediate knowledge of French and Russian desirable

Benefits:

The successful candidate will be offered an annual base salary starting at USD 64,121, with a variable post adjustment and other benefits including 30 days of annual leave, allowances for dependent family members, home leave, and an education grant for dependent children.
