About the Project
MISSION-CCS is a Horizon Europe MSCA Doctoral Networks Programme aimed at accelerating the implementation of carbon capture and storage (CCS) technologies worldwide. The programme trains 13 Doctoral Candidate Researchers (DCRs) to deliver the next generation of highly trained researchers and entrepreneurs in material science.
Job Description
The successful candidate will investigate impurities in the pure CO2 stream produced from CO2 capture, focusing on their corrosive effects and lifetime estimation risks to transportation systems. This research involves understanding the behavior of small impurities, such as water content, amine impurities, nitrosamines, and residual gas content like NOx, SOx, CO, NH3, and similar types.
Responsibilities and Qualifications
- A strong interest in experimental measurement and chemical analysis
- Experience with thermodynamics and phase equilibrium is an advantage
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team
- Excellent communication and writing skills
Secondments and Career Development
As part of the programme, the candidate will have secondments at the University of Leeds in the UK, Institut for Energiteknikk in Norway, and Wood group in the UK, providing opportunities for networking, skill development, and career growth.
Scholarship Details
The appointment will be based on the collective agreement with the Danish Confederation of Professional Associations. The allowance will be agreed upon with the relevant union. The period of employment is 3 years.
