The University of Copenhagen's Department of Political Science seeks a highly motivated Postdoctoral Researcher to join the Centre for Military Studies. The successful candidate will contribute to the scholarship and intellectual life of the University by conducting world-class research and teaching.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct research within the field of defence, security, and strategic studies.
- Engage in applied research and commissioned analytical tasks for the Danish Ministry of Defence and political parties.
- Share knowledge with society through media appearances and public lectures.
- Teach, supervise, and examine undergraduate and postgraduate students at the Department of Political Science.
- PhD in Political Science or equivalent academic qualifications.
- Proven record of outstanding research and a well-received PhD dissertation.
- Documented experience with knowledge exchange and/or policy-impact in an international context and in Denmark.
- Documented teaching experiences in one or more of the main areas covered by the Department.
- Proven ability to engage in policy-innovation and policy formulation.
- Publication, impact, and/or appointment record that documents knowledge of the institutions and changing threat landscape of Danish and/or Western security.
- Publication, impact, and/or appointment record that documents knowledge of the interest in the challenges faced by small European states.
