We are seeking an experienced Senior Medicinal Chemist to join our team at the Department of Drug Design and Pharmacology. As a Senior Medicinal Chemist, you will play a crucial role in leading research initiatives focused on peptide ligand discovery, biochemical and biophysical characterization of peptides and proteins, as well as investigations of protein folding.

About the Position

This is a permanent position with an estimated salary of $120,000 per year, based on the Danish Job Structure for Academic Staff at Universities 2020. The average weekly working hours are 37 hours per week.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead research projects and collaborate with colleagues to achieve research goals
  • Develop and teach courses related to medicinal chemistry and pharmaceutical sciences
  • Supervise researchers and contribute to the development of individual competences
  • Engage in outreach and innovation activities to promote interdisciplinary research and education
Requirements and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you should have:

  • A Ph.D. in medicinal chemistry or a related field
  • Proven experience in leading research teams and securing external funding
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated ability to attract and retain talented researchers
Preferred Qualifications

Experience in biopharmaceutical studies, protein/peptide folding, and design would be highly desirable. Additionally, applicants with a strong track record in attracting external funding and innovation would be preferred.
