Senior Population Genomics Researcher

The University of Copenhagen is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Population Genomics Researcher to join our Department of Biology. As part of our research team, you will be working on an exciting population genomics project focused on Greenlandic land mammals, including arctic fox, caribou, arctic hare, wolves, and lemmings.
Project OverviewThis 2-year position offers the opportunity to analyze several whole genome datasets, which will be ready for analysis from day one. You will be working in a collaborative environment with a joint lab setup and weekly meetings with other researchers. Our research group has established collaborations with both national and international institutions, providing opportunities for growth and development.
Requirements- A PhD in population genetics/genomics, bioinformatics, or a similar quantitative field
- Highly motivated and strong interest in population genomics
- Ability to program in at least one common programming language (e.g., C/C++, Python, or R) and experience with Linux/Unix and command lines
- Experience with genetic data, preferably high-throughput whole genome DNA sequencing data
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Published high-quality international peer-reviewed articles
We offer a competitive salary of approximately **DKK 600,000** per annum, depending on qualifications and experience. The position is covered by the Memorandum on Job Structure for Academic Staff, and negotiation for a salary supplement is possible.
