Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced Payroll Manager to join our Finance Department. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for overseeing payroll operations, ensuring accurate and timely processing in compliance with company policies and external regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Oversee payroll operations, ensuring accurate preparation, calculation, and disbursement in compliance with legal and company standards.
  2. Develop and optimize payroll strategies, policies, and practices to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
  3. Ensure compliance with payroll regulations and tax laws; stay updated on legislative changes and validate payroll reports for accuracy.
  4. Resolve complex payroll issues and discrepancies, implementing solutions to improve processes and prevent recurrence.
  5. Manage and optimize payroll systems, ensuring accurate processing and data integrity; collaborate with IT on upgrades and improvements.
  6. Analyze payroll metrics to identify and drive improvements that align with organizational goals.
  7. Collaborate with P&C and Finance to align payroll with business processes and support cross-functional initiatives.
  8. Lead and develop the payroll team, fostering a culture of performance, collaboration, and professional growth.

Leadership Skills:

  1. Support professional development and provide coaching to direct reports.
  2. Delegate responsibilities effectively, providing clear objectives, priorities, and performance feedback.
  3. Conduct constructive performance assessments to drive improvement.
  4. Build a high-performing, engaged team aligned with core values.

Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, or a related field; or equivalent work experience.
  2. Typically requires 7-10 years of relevant payroll experience, with at least 3-5 years in a managerial or leadership role.
  3. In-depth knowledge of payroll practices, regulations, and tax laws.
  4. Proficiency in payroll software and systems (e.g., Visma, Workday, Promark) and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
  5. Proven track record of managing payroll operations, leading a team, and driving process improvements.
  6. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  7. Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
