Principal UX/UI Design Specialist

INPAY A/S is a Danish Fintech company seeking a Principal UX/UI Design Specialist to join its team in Copenhagen. As a key member of our design department, you will be responsible for designing interfaces and flows for efficient operation of mass payment processing.

This individual contributor role will play a critical part in ensuring that our internal backoffice platform, used for various operational purposes, is intuitive, efficient, and user-friendly.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in UX/UI design, particularly within B2B payment or fintech environments, and will be skilled at leading and influencing team members to adopt new systems, tools, and processes.

We require someone with a solid understanding of user-centered design principles, information architecture, and interaction design. Experience designing for complex systems and B2B payments applications will be considered a distinct advantage.

Responsibilities:
  • Conduct user research and analysis to gather insights and understand stakeholder needs, pain points, and workflow requirements.
  • Analyze user feedback and data to identify areas for improvement and optimization.

User Research and Analysis:

  • Develop user journey maps to visualize the end-to-end experience.
  • Create detailed user profiles and personas to inform design decisions.
  • Present design concepts and prototypes to stakeholders, gather feedback, and iterate on designs based on input.

Design and Prototyping:

  • Collaborate with product managers across squads to define design requirements.
  • Work closely with developers across squads to ensure the feasibility of designs and to provide clear design specifications and assets.

Collaboration and Communication:

  • Communicate design decisions and rationales to stakeholders.
  • Foster collaboration and open communication among team members.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in UX/UI Design, Interaction Design, Human-Computer Interaction, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in UX/UI design, preferably with a focus on internal tools or complex systems.
  • Experience designing for B2B payments applications or internal systems in a payments/fintech environment will be considered as a distinct advantage.
  • Strong portfolio showcasing design work for web applications, highlighting your process, design thinking, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Proficiency in design tools such as Figma, Adobe XD, or similar.
  • Knowledge of agile development processes and methodologies.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate design rationale and influence stakeholders.
