Role Overview

Centrica Energy is seeking a dedicated IT Support Technician to become a vital part of our IT service team. This position is ideal for individuals with a strong technical background who are eager to contribute to the dynamic energy sector and support our vision of a greener, fairer future.

Key Responsibilities

In this position, you will undertake various responsibilities and tasks throughout your workday. Your duties will include:

  • Implementing, maintaining, configuring, and supporting computer hardware (laptops and workstations), software (operating systems and third-party applications), systems, networks, printers, and scanners.
  • Responding to service requests and issues in our service desk system promptly, adhering to our service level agreements.
  • Providing technical support across the organization, either in person or via phone, and managing equipment repairs and replacements as needed.
  • Ensuring that all employees have the necessary hardware and software to perform their roles without technical disruptions.
  • Handling daily IT service desk tasks, including monitoring and maintaining computer systems and networks.
  • Assisting with facility services for new employees, including desk relocations and hardware setups.
  • Building client operational images and maintaining the hardware and software that support our client systems and services.

Technologies Utilized

The primary technologies employed in this role include:

  • ITIL
  • Intune
  • SCCM
  • ITSM (ServiceNow, Jira, etc.)
  • MCP in client operating systems

Candidate Profile

We are looking for individuals with a positive mindset and a commitment to making a difference in the IT service department. Your background can vary, and we value diverse experiences that contribute to our team.

To excel in this role, you should possess:

  • Proven experience in delivering exceptional customer service, both face-to-face and in writing.
  • A proactive attitude towards tackling and resolving complex challenges.
  • Familiarity with at least one of the technologies mentioned above.

As part of an international team, strong communication and collaboration skills are essential. A structured approach, professionalism, and problem-solving abilities will be crucial to your success.

Additional Qualifications

While not mandatory, the following qualifications would be advantageous:

  • ITIL certification (we will provide this if you do not already have it).
  • Experience in project management or working within an IT-centric organization.
