The Chromatin Replication and Epigenome Maintenance research group, led by Prof. Anja Groth, is seeking a highly motivated scientist to develop new epigenetic approaches for cancer treatment.

This is a 3-year position with start November 2024 or after agreement, at the Novo Nordisk Foundation Center for Protein Research (CPR) in the Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences, University of Copenhagen.

Our Research:

  • We aim to elucidate how chromatin organization and function is propagated during mitotic cell division to maintain genome and epigenome stability.
  • Our goal is to understand mechanisms that underpin chromatin replication and epigenetic cell memory, and how they impact on cell fate decisions in development and disease.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work at the forefront of epigenetics research, developing novel approaches for cancer treatment.
  • Collaborate with our clinical collaborators to translate research into innovative treatment strategies.
  • Contribute to our other ongoing projects and supervise students.

Requirements:

  • PhD in Life science, biochemistry, molecular cell biology, cancer biology or related field.
  • Background in epigenetics and cancer biology.
  • Expertise in next-generation sequencing (NGS) approaches and data analysis.

Benefits:

  • Fixed-term position for 3 years.
  • Competitive salary starting at 35,000 DKK (approximately 4,700 EUR).
  • Pension and other benefits according to the Agreement between the Ministry of Taxation and AC.
