Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Veterinary Surgeon to join our team at the University Hospital for Companion Animals in Copenhagen, Denmark.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform complex surgical procedures on companion animals, demonstrating expertise in soft tissue and orthopaedic surgery.
  • Lead and participate in research projects, focusing on biomarkers and biomechanics in pre-surgical work-up and post-surgical follow-up.
  • Teach and examine undergraduate students, contributing to the development of further teaching strategies within companion animal surgery.
  • Interact with external researchers and private enterprises nationally and internationally, fostering collaboration and knowledge sharing.
Requirements
  • DVM degree with a license to practice in Denmark or willingness to obtain it within 6 months.
  • Holding diplomate status from the European or American Colleges of Veterinary Surgery or other postgraduate education within specialized companion animal surgery.
  • Strong track record of international publications and clinical experience with surgery from specialized companion animal practice or university veterinary teaching hospital settings.
What We Offer
  • A permanent position with an average weekly working hours of 37 hours per week.
  • A competitive salary, estimated around €70,000-€100,000 per annum, depending on qualifications and experience.
