Københavns Universitet (University of Copenhagen) is a research-led university known for its high-quality education and groundbreaking research. Our Department of Veterinary Clinical Sciences is renowned for its expertise in companion animal surgery, and we are seeking a skilled Veterinarian Surgeon to join our team.

The successful candidate will be expected to conduct original scientific research in the field of companion animal surgery, focusing on strengthening pre-surgical work-up, refining surgical techniques, and improving post-surgical outcomes. They will also be responsible for teaching undergraduate students, supervising master's projects, and providing continuous professional education for veterinarians.

Job Description
  • Research and publication of academic papers in top-tier veterinary journals
  • Teaching and mentoring undergraduate and graduate students in companion animal surgery
  • Supervision of researchers and clinicians in the department
  • Participation in departmental administrative duties and committees

The ideal candidate will have a strong track record of research and teaching experience in companion animal surgery, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and a willingness to collaborate with colleagues from diverse backgrounds.

Requirements
  • DVM degree with a license to practice in Denmark or willingness to apply for such within 6 months
  • Holders of diplomate status from the European or American Colleges of Veterinary Surgery or other postgraduate education within specialized companion animal surgery will be preferred
  • Strong track record of international publications and research collaborations
  • Clinical experience with surgery from specialized companion animal practice or university veterinary teaching hospital setting
Salary and Benefits

The salary for this position will be commensurate with qualifications and experience, but estimated to be around $120,000 - $150,000 per year.
