About the Position

We are seeking a highly motivated and talented PhD researcher to join our team at Danmarks Tekniske Universitet (DTU). The successful candidate will be part of a dynamic and international research environment, working on the development of converter-rich power plants for tomorrow's power systems.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct high-quality research at the intersection of renewable-energy technologies, power systems, power electronics, and control systems.
  • Develop frequency-domain and time-domain models for converter-rich power plants, considering different grid-forming/-following/-supporting control approaches.
  • Assess the performance and capabilities of such power plants in complying with grid code requirements and providing grid services.
  • Explore methods for tuning controls to ensure stability in tomorrow's power systems.
Requirements
  • Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Control Engineering, Power Electronics, or a similar field.
  • Experience with modeling, control, and simulation of converter-interfaced renewable-energy resources.
  • Strong programming skills in languages such as MATLAB/Simulink, Python, and PSCAD.
  • Excellent command of the English language.
  • Good ability to present results in oral presentations and prepare scientific papers for publication.
