We are looking for a skilled Data Engineer to join our Research Data Management Team. As a data engineer, you will play a crucial role in designing, developing, and maintaining vital data infrastructure that supports our groundbreaking research.

Job Description

  • Design, build, and maintain data pipelines to ensure seamless data flow.
  • Develop and optimize ELT processes, ensuring data integrity and quality.
  • Collaborate with the Data Science team and researchers to understand their requirements and translate them into technical specifications and model designs.
  • Maintain and support our Azure datalake infrastructure, providing excellent user experience.
  • Monitor and promote best practices for Azure resource usage, ensuring efficient and cost-effective operations.
  • Document infrastructure-related solutions and guidelines, serving as a knowledge hub for the team.
  • Teach Azure-related courses to our researchers, empowering them with skills and knowledge.

Requirements

  • A Master's or PhD degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
  • Several years of relevant work experience, preferably in cloud environments.
  • Expertise in Microsoft Azure, Python, Jira, Docker, Git, GitHub, and database programming.
  • Experience with agile project management and workflow management systems.
  • Familiarity with Nextflow and other related tools.
