About the Position

Job Description

This is an exciting opportunity for a talented academic to lead research and teaching in plant evolution and biodiversity. The successful candidate will develop or build upon an existing independent research program and attract significant external funding. Teaching is a significant aspect of the position, including contributing to basic courses at the bachelor level and providing a broad overview of fundamental biological principles.

The candidate is expected to have an internationally excellent academic track record in plant evolution and biodiversity, with documented experience in research project management, group leadership, funding acquisition, and teaching. Experience working on tropical plants and ecosystems is highly desirable.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct and lead high-impact research in plant evolution and biodiversity
  • Teach undergraduate and graduate students in plant biology, phylogenetics, and biogeography
  • Supervise PhD students and postdoctoral researchers
  • Develop and secure external funding for research projects
  • Collaborate with international research environments and establish relationships with researchers
Requirements
  • PhD in a relevant field (Plant Biology, Ecology, Evolutionary Biology)
  • International reputation as a leading researcher in plant evolution and biodiversity
  • Experience in research project management, group leadership, and funding acquisition
  • Excellent teaching skills and ability to communicate complex scientific concepts
  • Strong collaboration and networking skills
