Job Summary:

DTU invites applications for a position as professor in Marine Biodiversity. The position is affiliated with the National Institute of Aquatic Resources (DTU Aqua) and is based at the institute's locality in Kgs. Lyngby.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Lead research in marine biodiversity, focusing on how external pressures impact ecosystem dynamics.
  • Develop and lead interdisciplinary research projects, incorporating classical marine ecology, statistics, and machine learning.
  • Attract external research funding and coordinate national and international initiatives within the research field.
  • Contribute to university-level teaching, including PhD students and postdoc supervision.
  • Engage in international advisory functions regarding marine biodiversity and ecosystem effects of fishery and other maritime activities.
Requirements:
  • High international level research experience in marine biodiversity.
  • Research leadership experience, including strategic development and building an interdisciplinary research group.
  • Proven track record in attracting external research funding.
  • Experience in teaching, including PhD students and postdoc supervision.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.

DTU Aqua is a leading research institute in the field of marine and freshwater science. The institute is structured into 9 scientific sections, covering 14 different research areas and has 360 employees, of whom a third are scientific staff.
