Kongens Lyngby, Lyngby-Tårbæk Kommune, Denmark Danmarks Tekniske Universitet (DTU) Full time

Are you passionate about understanding the impact of climate change on marine ecosystems?

We are seeking a highly motivated PhD researcher to join our team at Danmarks Tekniske Universitet (DTU) to investigate how fish communities will change under a changing climate.

The project will focus on developing a trait-based fish community model to simulate responses to environmental change, and studying relations between fish growth, morphology, and physiology using concepts from ecology.

You will become part of a larger research project with the aim of understanding how climate-induced changes in fish growth strategies affect future trends in fish community biomass and potential catch productivity.

As a PhD researcher, you will work closely with experienced researchers and engineers to develop a comprehensive understanding of the complex interactions between fish populations and their environment.

The successful candidate is expected to start in 2024 or the beginning of 2025. The appointment will be based on the collective agreement with the Danish Confederation of Professional Associations.

We offer a rewarding and challenging job in an international environment, with opportunities for professional development and collaboration with leading experts in the field.

A minimum salary of DKK 45,400 per month (approximately USD 6,700) before taxes is estimated for this position.

We encourage applications from candidates with a strong background in ecology, biology, mathematics, or engineering, who have a keen interest in marine ecology and climate change.

The appointment will be made for a period of three years, subject to academic approval and the candidate's ability to commence employment by January 1, 2025.

All interested candidates irrespective of age, gender, race, disability, religion, or ethnic background are encouraged to apply.
