The Department of Geosciences and Natural Resource Management at the University of Copenhagen invites applications for a Postdoctoral Researcher position to investigate oxygen dynamics in enzymatic degradation processes. As a key member of the OxyMiST consortium, you will explore the role of reactive oxygen species in biomaterial degradation.
Oxygen constraints are significant in microbial processes, impacting the efficiency of biomass conversion into valuable products. Our research aims to improve understanding of oxygen-dependent enzymatic reactions and their impact on biomass degradation.
You will collaborate with an international team of experts to advance knowledge on oxygen constraints in microbial secretomes during plant cell wall turnover. Your contributions will be instrumental in developing novel methods for utilizing forest or agricultural products in a green bioeconomy.
Main Responsibilities:- Conduct cutting-edge research on enzymatic degradation processes
- Analyze the role of reactive oxygen species in biomaterial degradation
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team and utilize advanced biomasses, pretreatments, and enzymes at the department
To be successful in this position, you should hold a Ph.D. in a relevant field (e.g., biochemistry, biology, environmental science) and possess expertise in enzymatic processes and biomaterial degradation. Familiarity with oxygen-controlled equipment is also necessary.
