Position Details

This role is situated within the LBA (ligand binding-assay) Bioanalysis & Biomarker Area, comprising a team of 28 skilled researchers and laboratory technicians.

We are seeking a committed individual to join our automation expert team. Your daily responsibilities will encompass:

  • Maintaining and troubleshooting automated systems, including Tecan Fluent liquid handlers.
  • Acting as the primary liaison for service technicians and aiding in the integration of new applications into automated processes.
  • Supervising laboratory equipment and serving as a connection between laboratory analyses and automated systems.
  • Collaborating with researchers and laboratory technicians to enhance automation in analyses and sample management.

You will be involved in the implementation and validation of equipment and IT systems, streamlining workflows, and integrating devices with the LIMS system.

Department Overview
Our Non-clinical and Clinical Assay Sciences (NCAS) area consists of seven departments and is part of Research and Early Development. We are responsible for preclinical and clinical bioanalysis of new pharmaceutical products, including immunogenicity and biomarker assays, supporting the entire product portfolio.

We foster strong collaboration across departments that share laboratory facilities equipped with various state-of-the-art techniques, such as ELISA, MSD, AlphaLISA, RIA, Gyros, LCMS, and cell-based assays. NCAS operates under Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) and Good Clinical Practice (GCP) regulations and is transitioning towards a more digitized and automated laboratory environment.

Candidate Qualifications
To be considered for this position, you should:

  • Hold a qualification as a laboratory technician or possess a relevant background.
  • Have experience in using and maintaining laboratory equipment, preferably as a proficient user of liquid handlers.
  • Have a background in a regulated environment (e.g., GLP or GCP) is advantageous.
  • Possess experience with IT systems and equipment validation, although this is not mandatory.
  • Demonstrate strong communication skills and attention to detail.

Additionally, you should have a genuine interest in automation and a passion for resolving technical challenges. You are capable of translating your laboratory workflow knowledge into contributions for automated processes. You excel in teamwork and have a proactive, solution-oriented mindset, with a focus on quality in accordance with regulatory standards.
