About the Job:

We are seeking an experienced Senior SCADA Engineer to join our Renewables division, which has created one of the largest project portfolios within offshore substations in Northern Europe. As a senior engineer in our SCADA team, you will work closely with highly specialized and motivated employees designing and installing offshore substations.

Your Key Responsibilities:

  1. Project Management: Lead and ensure timely completion of substation SCADA project tasks within budget, meeting all industry standards and regulatory requirements.
  2. Design and Engineering: Direct and oversee the design and engineering of SCADA and Control Systems, taking ownership of critical project deliverables.
  3. Troubleshooting: Manage and coordinate interfaces to/from other systems, taking on complex technical management responsibilities and troubleshooting escalated issues.
  4. Documentation: Review, approve, and create detailed design, construction, and project documentation, ensuring precision and compliance with project standards.
  5. Workshops and Meetings: Facilitate high-level workshops and alignment meetings with both internal teams and external partners to drive project alignment.
  6. Factory and Site Acceptance Tests: Lead factory and site acceptance tests, offering on-site technical leadership and decision-making in real-time.
  7. Mentorship: Mentor junior engineers within the SCADA team, fostering skill development and knowledge transfer across the team.

About You:

  • You have extensive practical experience with SCADA solutions and installations, including hands-on expertise in integrating systems and getting them fully operational on construction or commissioning sites, ideally within offshore substations or similar high-stakes environments.
  • You possess proven project management skills and the ability to guide project timelines, budgets, and resource allocation effectively.
  • You have a strong problem-solving and troubleshooting mindset, with proven experience addressing complex system integration challenges in SCADA environments.
  • You have advanced expertise in integrating diverse SCADA systems and functionalities, with a thorough understanding of interoperability and optimization.
  • You hold comprehensive knowledge of SCADA systems and communication protocols (e.g., Modbus, DNP, IEC 61850, IEC104), with practical experience in configuring and customizing these protocols.
  • You possess an educational background in electrical engineering, automation, control, or telecommunications/network engineering, preferably with additional certifications or specialized training in SCADA or control systems.
  • You have excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, with experience working on international projects and collaborating across multicultural teams.
