At Green Chemicals Blog, we are pioneering a groundbreaking approach to mitigate CO2 emissions. By harnessing the potential of industrial waste gases, we transform them into valuable, emission-free green chemicals.

Our innovative technology has far-reaching implications, removing over 2 tonnes of carbon from the atmosphere for every tonne of product created. We are committed to making a significant impact on the planet's most pressing issue.

Job Description:

We seek an experienced Automation & Systems Integration Specialist to lead the implementation of our bioCCU technology at our first-of-a-kind commercial plant. The selected candidate will be responsible for developing and integrating a Distributed Control System (DCS) that connects bioreactors and various process sub-units, including gas compression, product recovery, and resource recycling systems.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement DCS architecture and control specifications, ensuring process security, data management, and system robustness.
  • Collaborate with process engineering and operations teams to capture operational philosophy and develop control specifications, including cause and effect matrices (CEMs).
  • Engage with vendors during procurement to ensure equipment compatibility with the overall control philosophy, managing control system integration across all units.
  • Oversee factory acceptance tests (FATs), site acceptance tests (SATs), commissioning, and startup activities, including alarm setting and management.
  • Assist with procedure development, particularly for safety instrumented systems (SIS).
  • Contribute to IT architecture development for the industrial site, ensuring data security and facilitating remote monitoring.

Requirements:

  • Hands-on experience with infrastructure, control systems, and process automation development, specifically with major DCS platforms.
  • Strong technical skills in automation and ability to develop tools and processes for automation engineering.
  • Expertise in industrial control systems, risk management, process improvement, and project management.
  • Ability to take ownership of ongoing control system development, with strong vendor management and oversight skills.
  • Unconventional thinking and problem-solving abilities, as this role involves working on challenging and innovative projects.
  • Availability for frequent travel to the US in the coming year or living in Houston, Texas.

What We Offer:

  • The opportunity to work with a passionate team of scientists and engineers on meaningful projects.
  • A chance to contribute to a mission that can make a significant impact on reducing CO2 emissions.
  • An inclusive and empowering work environment that values Relentless Grit, Unreasonably Ambitious, Unconventional Thinking, and Critical Urgency.
  • Support for relocation, if necessary, to facilitate a smooth transition.
