Wind Turbine Design Specialist

Shape the Future of Renewable Energy
We are seeking a skilled mechanical engineer to join our R&D Nacelle Back End department within the Technology organization at Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy.
As part of this team, you will develop innovative crane systems for wind turbines and collaborate with a global team of engineers.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Defining Service Crane design requirements based on industry standards and technical specifications.
- Specifying and maintaining technical specifications for crane systems to ensure cost-effectiveness and quality.
- Ensuring design meets criteria for static and dynamic loads, cost, quality, ease of assembly, serviceability, and safety.
- Reviewing and creating product documentation, including user manuals and technical guides.
- Participating in test and validation activities to ensure the crane system's performance and reliability.
- Collaborating with suppliers and internal stakeholders to identify and implement process improvements.
- Evaluating and selecting suppliers that meet our quality and delivery expectations.
- Sharing knowledge with the rest of the Technology R&D organization to drive innovation and best practices.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A degree in Mechanical Engineering or relevant experience in the wind or loader crane industry.
- Several years of experience in mechanical design, preferably with expertise in NX Siemens PLM, Teamcenter Siemens PLM, ANSYS, and Mathcad.
- Knowledge of machinery directives and technical standards, such as ISO and CE marking.
- Project management skills and experience with Agile methodologies.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
