Copenhagen, Copenhagen, Denmark GEUS - De Nationale Geologiske Undersøgelser for Danmark og Grønland Full time

At GEUS, we strive to build comprehensive knowledge of the water cycle and contribute to effective water resource management in Denmark.

The research group focusing on environmental contaminants in groundwater seeks a skilled research chemist for a three-year position starting as soon as possible. The ideal candidate will be part of a new project aiming to elucidate the origins of LM3, LM5, and LM6 in Danish groundwater.

We are looking for a highly qualified postdoctoral researcher with expertise in analytical chemistry and experience in laboratory settings. Familiarity with LC-MS/MS, GC-MS, high resolution mass spectrometry, and compound-specific isotope analyses is an asset.

The successful candidate will work closely with the project team at GEUS and international partners to design and perform experiments studying the fate of environmental pollutants in water and soil. Strong written and oral communication skills, academic writing, and collaboration abilities are essential.

You will become part of the Department of Geochemistry, where our activities focus on experimental work, numerical models, and creating knowledge for a better environment. We are a diverse staff of about 300 employees, prioritizing trust, flexibility, and professional development.

We offer access to courses, social activities, and opportunities for career growth. A gym with physiotherapists is available for your well-being. Our working hours allow you to balance your life effectively, and occasional remote work is also possible.
