Associate Professor in Timber Engineering

The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting research, teaching, and supervision in the field of timber structures and structural engineering. The position requires a strong track record of research and scientific publications, as well as the ability to attract research funding.
The ideal candidate will have a PhD degree or equivalent qualifications within the field of Civil and Architectural Engineering. A demonstrated ability to lead research projects and manage teams is essential. Excellent communication skills and fluency in English are required.
Research AreasThe research group focuses on experimental, analytical, and numerical research of timber and concrete structures. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to contribute to and build upon the existing areas of research, including numerical modelling and analysis of wood and timber structures, experimental and analytical work on wood-based structures, and connections.
Qualifications and Requirements- PhD degree or equivalent qualifications within the field of Civil and Architectural Engineering
- Strong track record of research and scientific publications
- Ability to attract research funding
- Research leadership and project management experience
- Excellent communication skills
- Fluency in English
The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching and supervision in the areas of structural engineering. A well-documented teaching record in the relevant field(s) is required.
About SDU CAEThe education and teaching portfolio at SDU CAE primarily covers the Bachelor of Engineering Program in Civil Engineering and the Bachelor and Master of Science in Engineering Program in Civil Engineering. There are also opportunities to participate in educational activities at other educational programs at the faculty.
