Senior Researcher in Timber and Structural Engineering

As an Associate Professor in Timber Engineering at Syddansk Universitet (SDU), you will be an integral part of the SDU Structures research group, focusing on experimental, analytical, and numerical research of timber and concrete structures. Your research will be centered around timber structures, including numerical modeling and analysis of wood and timber structures, experimental and analytical work on wood-based structures, including connections.
Key Responsibilities
The ideal candidate will have a strong track record of research and scientific publications, as well as a demonstrated ability to attract research funding. Research leadership and project management experience, excellent communication skills, and a well-documented teaching record in the relevant field(s) are required. The successful candidate will contribute to teaching and supervision in the areas of structural engineering, participate in teaching and the development of new courses, and supervise BSc, MSc, and PhD students as required.
Research Focus
The primary research area within timber structures involves numerical modeling and analysis of wood and timber structures, experimental and analytical work on wood-based structures, including connections. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to develop and deliver research and education to the highest international level.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you must hold a PhD degree or equivalent qualifications within the field of Civil and Architectural Engineering. Fluency in English is required, and knowledge of Danish is advantageous but not mandatory.
