Copenhagen, Copenhagen, Denmark Alfa Laval Mid Europe GmbH Full time

As a Master Thesis Researcher at Alfa Laval Mid Europe GmbH, you will be part of a dynamic team pioneering innovative solutions for the future. This role offers an exciting opportunity to make a positive impact on our colleagues, partners, customers, and society.

About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and talented individual to optimize the design of a 'Flower Hat' within industrial vessels. This device plays a crucial role in directing and dispersing steam uniformly while preventing the penetration of fatty acids into other regions.

Key Objectives
  1. Develop strategies to reduce energy losses and pressure drop, enhancing operational efficiency.
  2. Promote homogeneous steam distribution to prevent inconsistencies and improve overall product quality.
  3. Effectively prevent fatty acid intrusion into the steam region.
  4. Create a detailed 3D CFD model of the vessel, including the Flower Hat, based on Alfa Laval's design suggestions.
  5. Define boundary conditions, material properties, and flow parameters typical of the operational environment, as well as mesh sensitivity analysis.
Responsibilities

Conduct initial simulations to establish baseline data for the current Flower Hat design, focusing on pressure drop and steam velocity distribution. Explore various design modifications of the Flower Hat and utilize optimization techniques to identify key design features that impact performance. Run CFD simulations for each modified design to analyze their effects on pressure drop and steam distribution, and validate the simulation results to ensure the model's accuracy.

What We Offer

This is an excellent opportunity to grow your career with a leading company in the industry. As a Master Thesis Researcher, you will have the chance to work on a real-world project that has a significant impact on our business. You will also be part of a collaborative and dynamic team that values innovation and continuous improvement.

The estimated annual salary for this position is €60,000 - €80,000, depending on qualifications and experience. Please note that this is an estimate and may vary based on various factors.
