Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Lead Mould Cost Engineer to join our Global Procurement team in Average salary: 95,000 - 120,000 per annum. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing cost-saving strategies across our mould supply base, ensuring the sustainability and efficiency of our manufacturing processes.

About the Role

This role requires a highly motivated individual with a strong background in Engineering or Manufacturing, backed up by solid exposure to tooling or mould costing. You will lead the change and be a capability builder, bringing technical knowledge to the Procurement teams for data-driven negotiations through the use of Cost Engineering data in relevant categories.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and deliver Should Cost estimates on plastic injection moulds, carry out market index analysis, and compare mould raw materials to calculation models.
  • Bid should costs as part of supplier negotiation, ensuring fair and reasonable pricing.
  • Support the development of a Mould Should Cost calculation tool, considering IT system requirements and 'make-up' of a Should Cost.
  • Hold workshops with suppliers on cost idea generation using Should Cost data to identify major cost drivers and areas of waste/opportunity.
Requirements

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • A highly motivated individual with a strong background in Engineering or Manufacturing.
  • Strong experience in costing environments, including an understanding of finance and supply chain in creating a Should Cost.
  • Experience of production processes, volumes, and locations affecting moulds and an understanding of market indices and experience using market rates in cost calculations.
  • Excellent analytical skills, good technique in Cost Estimating principles, and ability to interpret data effectively.
