Proteomics Investigator for Cardiac Disease Research

The Department of Biomedical Sciences at the University of Copenhagen seeks a highly skilled Postdoctoral Fellow to join our research team. As a key member, you will lead mass spectrometry-based proteomics investigations of human heart samples in combination with experimental studies in iPSC derived cardiomyocytes.
We are looking for a motivated scientist with expertise in mass spectrometry-based proteomics and data analysis. Your extensive knowledge and experience in this area will enable you to excel in spatial- and cell type-resolved proteome acquisition and evaluation. You will work closely with current members of the Lundby group, collaborating to advance our understanding of cardiac disease mechanisms. Your independence, creativity, and drive will be essential in modifying and implementing the original research plan as needed.
About the Role
This position is an excellent opportunity to develop cutting-edge quantitative mass spectrometry-based proteomics skills, analyze large datasets, and integrate multi-omics data. Our state-of-the-art laboratories and core facilities provide the ideal environment for you to grow and contribute to our scientific community.
Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive mass spectrometry-based proteomics investigations of human heart samples
- Collaborate with the Lundby group on experimental studies in iPSC derived cardiomyocytes
- Evaluate and analyze acquired data to formulate hypotheses and inform research directions
- Work independently, leading project aspects while receiving ongoing support from the PI and group members
Qualifications and Skills
- PhD in a relevant field (e.g., biomedicine, biochemistry, or related sciences)
- Expertise in mass spectrometry-based proteomics, including LC-MS/MS, sample preparation, and data analysis
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and quality control
- Excellent communication skills, with ability to convey complex ideas clearly
- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, dynamic research environment
