COWI is seeking a Senior Business Ethics Lawyer to join its Business Ethics team. This role will be instrumental in shaping the company's commitment to ethical practices and ESG.
Job SummaryWe are looking for a dedicated legal professional with a passion for making a positive impact. The successful candidate will have experience in business ethics compliance, CSR, ESG or similar areas and will be responsible for reviewing and assessing COWI's business ethics related policies, procedures and internal controls.
The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards related to business ethics and ESG. They will also have excellent interpersonal skills, with an ability to effectively engage and influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization, including top management.
The salary for this role is estimated to be between 85,000-120,000 USD per year, depending on experience.
Key Responsibilities- Review and assess COWI's business ethics related policies, procedures and internal controls to ensure alignment with applicable laws and regulations in the many jurisdictions where COWI runs its business.
- Conduct legal research to stay updated on emerging regulations and best practices in business ethics and ESG.
- Assist in the development and delivery of training programs on business ethics and compliance for COWI employees at all levels.
- Advise on potential ethical and legal risks and propose useful mitigation measures.
- Collaborate closely with COWI's ESG team to develop and implement initiatives that support the organization's ESG objectives.
- Education as either cand.jur, cand.merc.jur or a similar educational qualification from abroad.
- A minimum of three years of practical experience with a focus on business ethics compliance, CSR, ESG or similar areas is required.
- Strong knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards related to business ethics and ESG.
- Experience in collaborating with ESG professionals, would be highly desirable.
- Excellent Interpersonal skills, with an ability to effectively engage and influence stakeholders at all levels of COWI's organization, including top management.
- Strong research, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Great organizational skills along with the ability to manage multiple complex problems simultaneously.
- Excellent skills in oral and written Danish and English.
