Postdoctoral Researcher in Bacterial Antibiotic Resistance

The Department of Veterinary and Animal Sciences at the University of Copenhagen is seeking a highly motivated postdoctoral researcher to join our team. As part of the "Breaking Antimicrobial Resistance by Targeting Potentiators" project, you will have the opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge research in the field of bacterial antibiotic resistance.
As a postdoctoral researcher, you will work closely with Associate Professor Dorte Frees and her team to investigate the molecular mechanisms underlying intrinsic bacterial factors that enable bacteria to develop high-level resistance to antibiotics. You will focus on methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA), one of the most clinically significant resistant pathogens.
Your primary responsibilities will include conducting state-of-the-art molecular methods within microbiology and immunology, as well as advanced microscopy techniques. You will also collaborate with researchers from leading institutions, including Harvard Medical School and the University of Greifswald, to advance the project's goals.
To be successful in this role, you should possess a strong background in molecular microbiology, with a PhD degree in a relevant field. Experience in functional genomics, protein biochemistry, and/or antibiotic resistance mechanisms is essential. Additionally, you should have hands-on experience with bioinformatic genomic analyses and a documented publication record in international peer-reviewed biological journals.

Requirements:
