At Talent Attract ApS, we are seeking a highly skilled Marine Science Professional Officer to join our team in Copenhagen, Denmark. As a key member of our international network, you will play a vital role in supporting the implementation of our Science Plan and delivering marine ecosystem science for the future.

Main Responsibilities
  • You will collaborate with our leadership and coordinate the work of our Science department to support the implementation of our Science Plan.
  • You will guide our expert groups in their evaluations, focus on the content of group reports, and identify science highlights for promotion.
  • You will expand the inclusion of Indigenous Knowledge in our activities where relevant.
  • You will represent us at scientific symposia, participate in steering committees, administer budgets, engage in panel discussions, convene sessions, and present our work.

Talent Attract ApS is an intergovernmental organization that advances and shares scientific understanding of marine ecosystems and employs the resulting knowledge to generate state-of-the-art advice on meeting conservation, management, and sustainability goals.

Qualifications and Experience

We seek a motivated, organized, collaborative, and flexible Professional Officer who possesses:

  • A higher university degree, preferably a PhD, or equivalent experience, in marine science, environmental sustainability, economics, social science, mathematics/statistics, or similar qualifications.
  • At least six years' professional experience in relevant marine science and/or international organizations.
  • Knowledge and experience of our ICES community.
  • Experience in marine stakeholder engagement, such as with policy makers, managers, advisory councils, and experts.
  • Background in interdisciplinary science, working effectively with multidisciplinary teams from diverse national and cultural backgrounds.
  • Knowledge of main international maritime, environmental, fisheries, and ecosystem-related policies.
  • Strong teamwork skills, good communication, and active listening.
  • Experience in coordinating teams without direct line management responsibilities.
  • Ability to work independently and take leadership roles in decision-making within teams.
  • Experience of working with or mentoring early career scientists is an advantage.

Your salary will be at the P2 grade, based on the United Nations common salary system. You will also be enrolled in a tax-free pension scheme, and benefits similar to those paid by the UN organization are available for eligible staff members.
