Global Sourcing Expert

Job Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Strategic Sourcing Manager to join our newly established group function in a global company. This key role will be responsible for strategic sourcing of global raw materials for four upholstery productions.

Main Responsibilities:

• Raw Material Procurement:
  • Pursue strategic sourcing of raw materials, including foam, wood, and metal for production.
  • Analyse and follow the raw material markets and price development.
  • Conduct data analysis and reporting to evaluate current sourcing practices and identify opportunities for optimisation.
  • Create an overview of different manufacturing methods at the upholstery productions to ensure optimal and balanced raw material sourcing.
  • Optimise costs through effective negotiation and contract management.
  • Participate in building the function by establishing tools, templates, and ways of working.
• Contract Negotiation:
  • Analyse and negotiate framework agreements to secure the best possible terms and conditions.
  • Negotiate complex solutions to ensure competitive prices and conditions in framework agreements.
• Stakeholder Engagement:
  • Maintain good relations with internal and external stakeholders, primarily the buying departments at the upholstery productions, while building structure and processes with relevant stakeholders.
  • Work efficiently in a cross-functional team and ensure buy-in for the new direction.
  • Foster bridges between different cultures, with experience from Eastern Europe being an advantage.

Requirements:

• At least five years of documented experience from a similar position with a tried and tested toolbox within strategic sourcing.
• Familiarity with the raw material markets and basic understanding of production processes.
• Experience with professional sourcing management from the production industry is an advantage.
• Strong leadership skills, with the ability to drive change and implement process improvements.
• Relevant academic qualifications, such as a cand.merc. degree in sourcing and supply chain management or similar.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and strategically.
• Energetic, extroverted, and able to create excellent relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
• Persistent, aware, and able to communicate clearly with all stakeholders.
