We are seeking a highly skilled postdoctoral researcher to join our team at the Syddansk Universitet (University of Southern Denmark) in the area of robotics and shipbuilding operations. The successful candidate will be part of our research group focused on developing and implementing model-based planning and control systems for robotic shipbuilding.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct research in robotics and automation, with a focus on model-based planning and control of robotic shipbuilding operations
- Develop and implement novel methods and tools for defining digital workflows from product design to production operations
- Collaborate with our industrial partners to apply research findings to real-world problems in the maritime sector
- Contribute to the development of a multi-robot/multi-purpose gantry system for executing central shipbuilding operations
- Work closely with our researchers and staff to grow a hands-on expertise in robotic production operations
- PhD degree in engineering with outstanding academic track record
- Ability to work independently as part of an agile team, with a strong sense of responsibility
- Documented knowledge in automation and/or logistics
- Documented experience with simulation and Digital Twins
- Strong programming skills (particularly in C/C++ and Python)
- Strong mathematics skills and practical knowledge in 3D modelling
