Postdoctoral Research Fellow in Public Health

We are seeking a highly qualified postdoctoral researcher to join our team at the Department of Political Science and Public Management at the University of Southern Denmark. The successful candidate will contribute to an existing research agenda on public health, absenteeism, occupational psychology, and public management.
About the PositionThe postdoctoral fellowship is a 3-year position available for a fixed term of 36 months. The position comes with a competitive, full-time salary and offers a unique opportunity to work with a small international team, including the principal investigator Professor Signe Pihl-Thingvad, Professor Vera Winter, a PhD candidate, and research assistants both at SDU and at the Bergische Universität Wuppertal.
Research AgendaThe research agenda focuses on public health, occupational psychology, absenteeism, and management in public organizations. The postdoctoral fellow will work closely with the research team to analyze data, write research papers, and contribute to future grant applications. The research team has built up a unique database combining annual employee well-being surveys of more than 8000 employees with management evaluations and registered sickness absence data traceable over several years.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct quantitative analyses and write research papers
- Disseminate research results through research papers, academic blogs, international conferences, workshops, and outreach activities
- Participate in regular meetings of the project
- Support the PI in project-related matters
- Participate in the intellectual life at SDU
To qualify for the position, you need to have a completed (or close to completion) PhD in Health Science or Social Science, with a strong background in quantitative methods and experience with software for data analysis (Stata and/or R). You should also have good knowledge of survey designs and documented potential to publish in peer-reviewed journals at an internationally recognized level.
