Lead Security Architect

Our Mission - At SOS International, we exist to keep people safe. Every day, our alarm centers handle emergencies through our TravelCare and Mobility services 24/7/365.

A car breaks down in a snowstorm far from home. A traveler falls ill abroad. Borders close overnight in a global crisis. In all these moments, people rely on us.

Behind the scenes, our software and systems are the backbone that make this possible. They must run smoothly, reliably, and predictably, because real lives depend on it.

Our Philosophy - For too long, security has been treated as a checkbox or a barrier. A process that slows down progress, adds friction, or arrives too late. But checklists don't save lives, and walls eventually get breached.

We don't want a firefighter who arrives when the blaze has already begun.

We need a visionary inspector and enabler, someone who works with the builders from the start, guiding them to design safe solutions and empowering them to solve problems with confidence.

Security at SOS International is not about saying no. It is about making things possible, both from before the first line of code has been written, for a feature, and on the operational level where life deep on our solutions running.

Resilience Over Walls

A secure system assumes that it has been compromised. It assumes that one day, someone may already be inside.

If your defenses rely only on walls, you've already lost when the first brick falls. True security is resilience: systems that can detect threats early, adapt quickly, and recover without breaking down.

This is the transformation SOS International must go through — and we are looking for a leader to help us make it real.

Your Responsibilities

As our Lead Security Architect, you reports to Head of Group Architecture & Security and have leadership for the team (2-3 in direct reports) – And you will guide this transformation…

• Be the visionary inspector — setting the direction for how we design and build secure systems from the ground up
• Act as an enabler — ensuring security is a foundation for trust, speed, and innovation, not a barrier
• Report and manage the information security risks, both up, down and to the side in the organization. Which of cause means that you need to be able to communicate at different abstraction levels, for different audiences, to help everyone understand the issue, at the level where they are.
• Lead and mentor a team of three, empowering them to grow and deliver meaningful impact
• Work hand in hand with architects, developers, and operations to make security a shared responsibility across the organization
• Influence group-wide strategy together with the Head of Group Architecture & Security, embedding security into our future ways of working

This is not a role for a firefighter. It is a role for a leader who prevents fires before they start and enables others to build with confidence.
