P&O Business Development Lead in People & Organisation (P&O)

We are looking for great people to join our team. Are you curious, motivated by fast-paced strategic and complex projects in M&A with many stakeholders across the business and enjoy collaborating? If so, we would love to meet you.

Our team plays a vital role in ensuring the people and organisation perspective is front and centre when growing our portfolio through business development and executing on our strategy.

If you believe you could be a good fit, you may be the candidate we are looking for as our new Business Development P&O Lead.

About the team

You will become part of the "M&A and Change Management" unit in the SVP area "P&O Business Partnering" located in Novo Nordisk Headquarters in Bagsværd, Denmark. We are a dedicated team of approx. 10 people who value diversity, strong ethics and a social working atmosphere with a direct communication style.

The team is responsible for driving P&O-related Due Diligence and Post-Merger Integration activities globally. We are part of a larger department that drives strategic P&O projects and activities that support the organisational development of Novo Nordisk on an enterprise level.

The position

The P&O Business Development Lead will drive acquisition and integration activities globally within P&O for Novo Nordisk, including integration planning and integration execution as part of a cross-functional Integration Team across the Novo Nordisk value chain and leadership teams.

You will lead a P&O Integration team with internal and external functional P&O experts to achieve the value drivers defined in each deal. The team you manage on projects varies between 2-15 people.

You coordinate and facilitate decision-making based on data with senior stakeholders in Novo Nordisk to ensure a risk-balanced plan and recommendation for the Integration Management Office with senior leadership in the given area of the value chain where the acquisition occurs.

You also collaborate with HR and other functional stakeholders from the acquired company in each deal and can clearly switch from detailed planning with these specialists and communicate how the details of the plans and deliverables might impact such key business decisions around Talent Retention, Organisational Design and HR Operations.

Success criteria include welcoming challenges with a smile, setting direction and creatively designing solutions in situations characterised by uncertainty while autonomously leading people in these projects.

Projects can be within Research & Development and Product Supply (Manufacturing) and the ability to quickly learn and bridge the culture between innovative biotechs or process-heavy manufacturing environments and Novo Nordisk corporate culture is an integral part of the job.

We strive to be a sustainable and preferred employer, which includes ensuring a healthy balance between work and personal life. The position will experience high productivity peaks, but we value supporting each other as a team and taking time to rebalance between projects.

Travelling will be required between 10 to 30 days per year and working across time zones during projects, depending on where the acquisition takes place.

This role reports to the Director of M&A and Change Management, Michael Bell Poulsen.

Qualifications

  • 3-5 years of experience from consulting or strategic business partnering in a larger international company
  • A track record showing strong ability to drive complex, strategic or transformational projects with high involvement of senior management - and the toolbox to support
  • Business sense and a keen understanding of data-driven decision-making
  • A flair for understanding what tactically drives progression towards strategic objectives for organisation and people
  • Strong global HR operating model design, HR Tech implementation, Total Rewards background as well as experience from Pharma are clear advantages but not pre-requisites

We hire for the right fit, so if you are thinking the position excites you and you could be passionate about the mission, then we want you to apply even if you do not tick all the boxes above.

Working at Novo Nordisk

At Novo Nordisk, your skills, dedication, and ambition help us drive change for patients around the world. As their needs evolve, so does our challenge to find better and more innovative ways to improve their quality of life.

In exchange, we offer you an opportunity to work with extraordinary talent and to benefit from a range of possibilities for professional and personal development.
