Terminal Operator

We are looking for new personnel to strengthen our terminal operators’ team.

How does it work

We are looking for motivated employees who enjoy the possibility to mix administrative and hands-on work. We are strengthening our Terminal Operator’s pool with the idea that each member may contribute with their strengths. You would share daily tasks and operational responsibilities while using your previously gained experience to strengthen the different legs of our operation.

More about the role

Together with the Terminal Operator’s pool, you are to lead and support the day-to-day operation, safely perform cargo handling and storage operations, and supervise the terminal's technical and safety condition. You will work in shifts with shared responsibility, alternating between shift leader and shift operator. At times, you will work in a team, while at other times, you will work independently.

Not only terminal duties

Besides managing the terminal, we operate a fleet of highly modern bunker tankers. During low terminal workload periods or in the event of rapid response, you will be allocated to support the shipping section. This could involve immediate repairs, administrative duties, or supporting a crew change.

Your profile

You should be passionate about your work and enjoy a dynamic environment. Although part of a structured shift, no two days are the same. Flexibility to work outside normal hours is expected, and you should be able to adapt quickly to changing circumstances.

Your qualifications and experience

We prefer applicants with a marine background or related experience, but we welcome all applications as passion and willingness to learn are equally important. Previous experience as a terminal operator, seagoing personnel (deck or engine), or cargo surveyor will be prioritized. You need to express yourself fluently in speech and writing in English and one Scandinavian language, and you should have at least completed high school.

Located in Gothenburg with roots from Donsö Island, OljOla is an established company within the tanker shipping industry, founded in 1978. We operate a modern fleet of bunker tankers with a mission to become a leading bunker and terminal operator, focusing on operational efficiency, technical innovations, safety, and sustainability.

The position is based in Frederikshavn and is full-time as a shift operator. We apply a six-month probationary employment. The employment is covered by insurance and occupational pensions, in accordance with standard practice.
