The role

As a Head of Ad Sales, your primary responsibility is to manage, grow, and optimize Viaplay's ad sales business. You will lead a high-performing sales team and be part of the ad sales management team. It will be cross-platform sales where TV today is the biggest revenue stream, but the growth and future business potential will be digital and social revenue. You will work directly with media agencies, trading desks, digital agencies, and direct clients to drive revenue growth, improve campaign performance, and strengthen relationships with key stakeholders.

Client & Agency Relationship Management:

  1. Establish and maintain strong relationships with media agencies, programmatic trading desks, and key stakeholders within the advertising ecosystem.
  2. Collaborate with clients to understand their advertising objectives and align those with Viaplay's capabilities.
  3. Work closely with the internal insight and B2B functions to promote Viaplay's advertising offerings.

Digital Strategy and Expertise:

  1. Collaborate with Viaplay’s internal teams to ensure the programmatic offering aligns with overall business goals and targets.
  2. Leverage industry knowledge to advise clients on the latest trends in programmatic media buying, audience targeting, and digital advertising technologies.
  3. Utilize programmatic platforms (e.g., DSPs, SSPs) to help clients achieve optimal campaign performance across digital channels.

Business Development:

  1. Identify opportunities for upselling and cross-selling additional Viaplay products and services to existing clients.
  2. Play an active role in pitching and closing new advertising deals.
  3. Support the sales team in driving Viaplay's Ad sales strategy forward, ensuring the development of new business relationships with key media buyers.

What we’re looking for

We understand you may feel confident ticking certain boxes more than others and that’s why we always keep an open mind in our recruitment process. But, to thrive in this role, we do believe you’ll have at least some experience in the following:

Qualifications:

  1. A degree in Marketing, Business, Digital Media or a related field.
  2. Sales management: Min. 3-5 years’ experience of managing a high performing sales team preferable in the media industry.
  3. Experience with digital advertising, with a strong focus on video. Proven experience in programmatic sales, SSP integrations, and yield optimization.
  4. Strong communication and negotiation skills with a track record of managing relationships with media agencies, advertisers, and programmatic teams.
  5. A performance-oriented mindset with a focus on managing & developing the team to deliver on targets and strive to beat expectations.
  6. Fluency in Danish and English.
