This includes optimizing payroll processes by identifying efficiencies, automation opportunities, and best practices to enhance accuracy and reduce manual workload. It is crucial to ensure that all relevant employee data inputs are accurately registered and submitted in line with both monthly and yearly internal controls.
Additionally, the role involves managing post-payroll activities, such as delivering finance files, generating reports, overseeing audit controls, and performing reconciliation. Close collaboration with colleagues in People & Culture is essential to support both employee and manager payroll-related queries.
Ongoing communication with external payroll providers, pension providers, and tax authorities is necessary to guarantee compliance and accuracy. Leading payroll reconciliation and preparing for each payroll cycle involves ensuring that all necessary pre- and post-payroll checks are thoroughly completed.
Expertise in managing complex payroll issues is critical, ensuring compliance with local labor laws and internal policies. Furthermore, the role plays a significant part in payroll system and process upgrades, contributing to testing, implementation, and improvement initiatives.
Collaboration with People & Culture will strengthen payroll-related processes, including cost allocations, reporting, and audits. Additionally, driving harmonization efforts across regions will be a key focus to align payroll practices, ensuring scalability and efficiency across the organization.

- Extensive experience working in payroll within a complex, multinational organization.
- Strong understanding of payroll regulations and compliance, particularly in Denmark, with experience in other European countries being a plus.
- Experience in optimizing payroll processes, introducing automation, and implementing payroll system enhancements.
- Knowledge of financial aspects related to payroll, including tax compliance, benefits administration, and accounting processes.
- Experience working with outsourced payroll providers and managing vendor relationships.
- Familiarity with HR operations and their intersection with payroll is an advantage.
- Proficiency in payroll and HR systems such as VismaLøn and VismaHR is a plus.
Key Skills & Competencies
- Strong analytical skills and a high level of attention to detail.
- Ability to operate in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple priorities effectively.
- Structured and results-driven, with a proactive and solution-oriented mindset.
- Excellent collaboration and stakeholder management skills, working seamlessly across teams and regions.
- Ability to navigate corporate structural challenges and drive process improvements.
