Field Service Technician, Electrical, SPO/FLEXO

About the Role
You will provide hands-on technical support and have a first-class electrical knowledge. You will ensure customer satisfaction through exceptional customer service and first-time fix interventions.

Main Responsibilities

Communication

  1. Liaises effectively and professionally with customers and suppliers, both internal and external regarding technical and general queries.
  2. Liaises effectively with other members of service team, particularly with Technical Service Manager and Field Service Manager, to share knowledge on systems and work in progress.
  3. Liaises effectively with spares teams regarding customer spare parts and warranty items.
  4. Develops and maintains close professional partnership with customers, group companies, suppliers and other bodies.
  5. Identifies what information customers and colleagues require, recording factual information accurately.
  6. Expresses clearly and effectively orally and in writing.
  7. Negotiates effectively towards desired goals.

Customer Service

  1. Support the organisation in its commitment toward a culture of World Class customer service.
  2. Play an active and positive part in Customer Service training and events as initiated through the Institute of Customer Service and other parties as requested.
  3. Positively promote our membership to internal and external customers.
  4. Actively seek out ways to increase your levels of customer service through self-development and knowledge sharing.

Service, Maintenance and Repairs

  1. Identifies technical problems and liaises with the customer to report findings and recommendations, always striving for first time fix.
  2. Carries out service, repair, and installation of Bobst Group machinery to agreed standards.
  3. Provides accurate information to spare parts department for customer quotations to be generated.
  4. Actively identifies areas in which the business partnership can be improved via opportunities for other Bobst products.
  5. Ensures that Technical Field Reports are returned to back office within two days of intervention.
  6. Displays a commitment to customer service.

Technical Competence

  1. Maintains and develops technical skills in own specialist area.
  2. Demonstrates high level of technical competence directly related to needs and requirements of clients and understands and applies these capabilities to those needs.
  3. Applies technical knowledge to provide a quality service.
  4. Gives technical advice to customers and involves other members of the company when relevant.
  5. Keeps up to date with client and industry developments.

Flexibility

  1. The ability to work where and when required, sometimes at short notice.
  2. Travel to Service Factories for Training over a weekend when required.
  3. Travel on weekends to customer interventions when required overseas.
  4. Flexibility within product ranges.
  5. Development within the associated disciplines.
  6. Ability to adapt to the diverse customer needs.
  7. Arrive on site at 8am when working within a 2 hour travelling period.

Administration

  1. Produces accurate & timely Technical Field Reports after each intervention.
  2. Submits time sheets, expenses and/or overtime forms after each service intervention.
  3. Completes Bobst installation reports after each machine installation.
  4. Maintains an accurate tool inventory.
  5. Ensures all periodic maintenance is carried out to company vehicles in accordance with the Company vehicle policy.

Functional skills

  1. Ability to diagnose faults and make recommendations in customer environment.
  2. Ability to communicate effectively with the customer.
  3. Professional qualification in Electrical Engineering.
  4. Driver's License.
