To achieve our ambition, we are looking for a Healthcare Affairs Manager for the Sweden Region West. The role is field-based with customer interactions mostly in the Gothenburg area. The role

We are on a journey to bring life-saving medicines to patients. You, as the Healthcare Affairs Manager, are essential for implementing the market access strategies for prioritized products, ensuring successful product launches and uptake in the designated region(s). This role involves working closely with market access managers, medical and commercial partners, engaging with stakeholders, and navigating the complex regional healthcare landscape. The role will also support transforming care initiatives by finding opportunities on a regional political and senior healthcare official level.

What you will do

As a Healthcare Affairs Manager at AstraZeneca, you will be the key expert on regional decision making in healthcare tasked with:

  • Keeping expert knowledge of regional decision making for healthcare with focus on regional budgetary and introduction decisions.
  • Maintaining a detailed understanding of financial steer of healthcare in region(s) (e.g. incentive models, reimbursement models for care) and the opportunities and challenges that presents to AZ.
  • Systematically and clearly communicating the needs of the region to the broader organization.
  • Articulating the needs for tools, materials, and tactics needed to implement access strategy on the regional level.
  • Implementing market access strategies and tactical plans for the region, in alignment with the overall market access and commercial objectives.
  • Influencing stakeholders at different levels in the region to ensure access and access shaping objectives are met.
  • Leading and tracking regional implementation processes (e.g. regional structured introduction) for launches in assigned region(s).
  • Ensuring that value messages and budget impact are well understood by regional decision-makers for key products.
  • Demonstrating AZ values, ethics, and compliance within all business practices, in alignment with the AZ Governance Framework, internal standards and policies, and external regulations.

What we need from you

To be successful in this role, you will need to use your analytical skills to uncover and define the regional decision making. You have to clearly communicate what makes an impact on the regional decision making process in a given situation (e.g. a launch of a new drug, investments in a therapy area).

Essential experience:

  • MSc or equivalent experience in pharmacy, Health Economics, business or a healthcare related field.
  • 5-7 years of experience in customer-facing healthcare roles or office-based market access in pharma, with a strong grasp of regional healthcare decision-making.
  • Ability to build networks with and influence/create impact through healthcare decision makers.
  • Self-leadership and ability to prioritize to deliver according to plans.
  • Structured and analytical (e.g. ability to read and build dashboards to track regional access performance).
  • Efficient and structured communicator in verbal and written in local language.
  • Ability to work in and contribute to a team.
  • Ability to communicate budget impact and value messages on different stakeholder levels.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of health economics and business insight.
  • Fluency in Swedish and proficient language skills in English are required for the role.
